The Kimberley, on the far north of Western Australia is one of the world’s last great wilderness regions. Home to a vast diversity and abundance of wildlife and people of the world’s oldest continuous culture, the Kimberley is a landscape which humbles and beguiles all who experience it. Its coast and adjacent waters are among the most pristine on the planet and also home to a great diversity of marine and intertidal wildlife. This region is now under threat by large mining interests who, with the encouragement of the Western Australian government have plans to open the region to exploitation for mining and associated industries.
