Broome Families say NO

Created by Broome filmmakers, this short film gets to the heart of local concerns about the proposed gas plant near Broome. Locals beg decision makers to consider the social, environmental and cultural effects the precinct would have on the richly historical and multi-ethnic town of Broome.

  1. Industrialisation will destroy this area as it will open it to a rapacious world that cares only for the dollar.
Has not man done enough damage to this place?
Is the insane avarice of our generation going to be permitted to destroy the lifestyle of the people of Broome, the Kimberley wilderness, The Great Barrier Reef and The Great Artesian Basin too?
Time for the good people to act to stop this gas rush madness.

  2. Very moving video, If only they would listen.  The young man got it in one, how will this close the gap? how will this help Broome as a community? plain and simple it wont.  Its a crying shame that these ppl making decisions about Broome have probably never spent anytime in this town, enjoying the community, the unique qualities and cultures that make it so special.
